Puget Dude’s creations, fabrications, (and abominations.)

With the new forum software being much more photo-friendly, thought I would start a project thread. So, with no rhyme or reason and in no particular order I’ll quit hoarding pictures on my phone and start sharing a few here.

    Interesting little rolling table

Picked up this table this weekend, machined top, cast iron base stretcher, heavy pipe legs, industrial casters. Very heavy duty construction. I was told it’s an antique typesetter’s table; came out of a small NM newspaper decades ago. Price? Free. A good friend was cleaning out an...

    Scrubber for epoxy floors?

Looking for some advice on cleaning epoxy floors- bought a house with a 5-car garage, all epoxy floors. These were installed in 2004, not sure they have ever been cleaned. I have about 1500ft2 to do. Want to get these cleaned up, would like to do it myself in sections because I'll have to move...

    Rockwell 21-100 Milling Machine Wanted

WTB- Rockwell 21-100 Mill in decent shape- Preferably within ~500 miles of Phoenix. Might consider a Burke Millrite with R8 spindle. Per larry_g's recommendation I'm adding an Index Model 40 to the list. UPDATE: Found an RF-31 with stand, powerfeed, vise and tooling locally. I guess a...

    Knipex... WTF?

I'm just about done with Knipex pliers. Love the Mini-Bolt cutters and the Cobras, but have nothing but disdain for their other pliers. Their needle-nose pliers are made out of a silvery cheese-like substance. This weekend I just ruined a new pair of diagonal pliers- pulling a bunch of 1-3/4"...

    Truper Body Hammers

Anyone have any experience with Truper Body Hammers? They look like fairly decent quality, with better fit and finish than the Chicom stuff. Going to need a couple for an upcoming metal project, don't intend to become a professional body man, these will be just for occasional hobby use. Not...

    M12愿望清单

Really like the 2438 Milwaukee Sander Polisher. It really does a nice job with a 3" disc. Great balance, plenty of power. I'd really like to see a 3/8" x 13" M12 bandfile. Seems like it would be easy adaptation to the 3" cutoff tool... Any others?

    Worm Drive table Saw

Looks like someone at Skil finally made the obvious connection... Wonder how many Skilsaws hanging upside down under a sheet of plywood screwed to a couple of sawhorse with a 2x4 fence it took for the light to finally go on?

    Holy Crap! (SnapOn setup)

I was in a high-end RV repair facility today, spotted this and thought I'd share it with the GJ community. The tech proudly told me it was all paid for- he puts in a lot of 12-hour days and wanted a workspace he could be proud of... Let the love/hate fest begin...

Polishing scratches out of a windshield?

Bought a used 2012 SRX, it has quite a few very light scratches on the windshield. You can't feel them with your fingernail, but you can sure see them from the inside when the light is right. Anyone have any experience in buffing these out? Or do I just bite the bullet and replace the...

Can't post pics all of a sudden...

    What's even better than FREE...?

A Wilton bullet dropped off by a friend today! He was getting paid to clear out a storage unit as part of an estate settlement after the family had finished taking what they wanted. He's a great scrounger, so I'd asked him to keep his eyes open for a big old vise for me ... this was the first...
